Zach started attending national shoots in 2018, including Junior Worlds, Junior Olympics Nationals, and USAYESS Nationals. Quickly he was attending weekly, monthly, and annual shoots, which included Nebraska state, USAYESS, and many more. A couple months later, Zach shot USAYESS competition in Grand Island.
Soon, Zach was shooting skeet and fell in love with the sport. Zach, a resident of McCook, Nebraska, started shooting trap and hunting when he was 10. This year my NRL Hunter has been with H-1000 and it’s incredible! I shot a lot of Sta-Ball 6.5 and it worked well beyond expectations.
Varget and H-4350 are the go to but since I’ve been running some IMR Enduron powders that seem to work very good as well. 100% of all my handloads are done with Hodgdon brands. My name is Robert Brantley and I have been obsessed with precision rifle since 2007. For this reason people shooting with a silencer prefer subsonic loads, even when shooting a rifle. As a side note, if a silencer is attached to the gun it will only suppress the muzzle-blast noise. Subsonic loads do not have this second component of noise.
#Subsonic speed crack
The noise that shooting makes has two components, the noise of the hot gases escaping the muzzle and sometimes flashing as they hit the atmosphere (muzzle blast), and in the case of supersonic loads the crack of the sonic boom as the bullet breaks the sound barrier. Most rifle loadings are all supersonic, so subsonic loads are specially down-loaded to stay below the speed of sound. In 9mm, most loading data are supersonic. All data in this caliber is subsonic but is not normally tagged with the name subsonic. Not all “subsonic” loads are noted as such in the data, because the cartridge is not capable of producing supersonic velocity. Subsonic loads refer to those whose velocity is less than the speed of sound.
